Got to start reading up on how to be a better dad./Jerome

Today is the first day I start writing a blog. I have never been an IT savvy person but well, got to start somewhere……

A bit of self introduction. I am 38 yrs old, got married to a lovely understanding wife, Sook Yee in Nov 2006 and now am a father of a 1 yr old boy. My wife is expecting with another baby boy due in Jan 09. The “promotion” of roles from husband to father had been quick and fast. It has not been always a smooth journey but so far my wife and I took things easy. So, it was ok so far without too much pressure to be perfect parents (just a bit of self consoling).

Needless to say, life change as your role changes ie no more late night drinking etc. But being a husband and a father brings me much joy. My 1^st boy Joshua was born in Aug 07 and time really flies. From a tiny 3.69kg baby he has grown into a more than 10kg boy. I am having a hard time carrying him for long distances. Good thing he has started walking. So that’s a relief….Good thing is I think my biceps have became firmer.

I am truly amazed at the laws of nature where over the past 1 year, my son has started from turning over on his own, crawling, walking and climbing on his own. He has started mimicking our actions too. He never fails to bring my wife and me much joy in our lives.

Much as we are worried about how we can handle 2 boys (1.5 yrs apart), my wife and I are looking forward to the arrival of Jovan next year. Guess fights etc amongst the 2 boys will be common. Got to start reading up on how to be a better dad.
